Recommend a 38 snubby SD load

I like GDHP & Cor-bon DPX. Whatever you decide, make sure it works in your gun.

I ran some Nyclad through a 36 round qual. course back in 91' using a model 36 w/speed loaders. Half way through the couse, the blueing on these bullets started to get under the extractor star preventing the cyclinder to close.

The local Walmart has Winchester white box 125g +p jhp. Has anyone tried these?

Winchester Ranger 110 gr. +P+....Has almost the ballistics of a 9mm.

IIRC, that Winchester Ranger 110 grain 38 +P+ has a caution on the side of the box saying that it should only be fired in revolvers chambered for 357 magnum.

I've fired quite a bit of it out of a 3" 13-3 and a 2.5" 66-2. It is pretty hot stuff, IMO. It is a replication of the old Treasury load. I would be hesitant to run it through a 38 revolver. Be safe! Regards 18DAI

The Buffalo Bore SWCHP 158 grain +P chronographs a bit over 1000 fps in my Model 60.

There is no caution on the side of the box that says that it can only be shot in a 357 revolver???? It only says not to shoot it in lightweight aluminum frame revolvers (which I dont) It shoots fine in my 640 and 60 (.38 special only) guns.

Both Federal's Hydrashok or Winchester's Silvertip ammo is a good defensive round in a snubnose. They both have several bullet weights (from 110 gr and 125 gr for the Silvertips and 145gr to 149 gr for the Hydrashoks).

Both rounds are accurate and effective in my opinion.
