Took my new AR to the range today and got it dialed in at 25 yards. The issue is that the trigger is kinda rough and "draggy".
I'm interested in getting a crisp trigger and stretching it out further.
Any recommendations?

I'm surprised the Geissele fan boys haven't chimed in... Do you prefer a 2-Stage or Single-Stage trigger? SF Vet mentioned LaRue. Good Triggers, and there's a bunch of others just as good. Depends on how much you want to spend. Figure at least $250 for anything decent. Wilson Combat also make great AR triggers. Personally, I wouldn't go any lighter than a 2.5# trigger. Timney is always a good choice. Rise Armament aren't too shabby for the price but not the best. I run a WC TTU-3G in my DD V7 and have a Timney 2.5# Skeletonized in my Remington R15 VTR Varmint AR. Both are very nice triggers.

I have used a lot, I have two Gisselle triggers and two LaRue. Best bang for the Buck is the LaRue MBT with the heavy spring added.

I like the wider trigger shoe on it. Triggers are very subjection able, but those two are know entities that have been shown to be reliable.

On my Panther, from the stock trigger I installed a LaRue MBT 2-stage.

Easy to install. Can’t beat the price. BIG difference!

On my Lyman Digital, 7 pulls averaged - the 1st stage is 2 lbs. 0.8 ozs. The 2nd stage is 3 lbs. 8.96 ozs.

I have a Geissele in one of my ARs and a trigger tech drop in in another. The geissele is fantastic, but pricey. The trigger tech is way better than the price would suggest. $140 for the trigger, another $11 for the anti-walk pins(a must for most/all drop in triggers. If you're looking for an upgrade without breaking the bank, I can absolutely recommend the trigger tech.

If you just want a good feeling trigger, not a competition, expensive trigger, I like these.(Primary arms has them for about $75.

The ALG Defense Advanced Combat Trigger (ACT) takes the bomb proof reliability of the standard Mil-Spec trigger and gets rid of the grit and vague break. A sharper break has been achieved by polishing the engagement surfaces and coating the trigger with an electroless Nickel plating that provides a significant enhancement to surface hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. The hammer, disconnector, and pins have been treated with Nickel Teflon for reduced friction and good wear resistance, with the trigger treated with Nickel Boron the harder surface and greater wear resistance.
Made by the wife of the Gisselle maker.

The ALG ACT or the black finished QM are both excellent choices, I run either in any AR15 that may be used for “social” purposes. All the reliability of a mil-spec but smooth and shootable. They also meet many departmental requirements! 🇺🇸👮🏻‍♂️👍🏻

Big fan of the TriggerTech's from Canada. Have them in my AR's and my old Remington 700. They fulfill all my requirements for a crisp, no-creep trigger. My son keeps wanting to swap his AR Gold Adjustable for one of my TT's... nope, not gonna happen.

Not sure, I'm leaning more toward single stage. Is there an advantage in either?
