Recommend Me An AR-15 Trigger

Not sure, I'm leaning more toward single stage. Is there an advantage in either?
The majority of bench shooters seem to prefer a 2-Stage. Adjustable 1st & 2nd stage poundage adjustments, lighter poundage trigger (some can be adjusted down to Ounces), 1st stage take-up before hitting the wall. I suppose that could be considered an 'advantage' over a single stage trigger for target shooting. For the type of recreational shooting that you're probably going to do a single stage trigger would most likely be just fine.

I use a Rise Armament RA-140 Super Sporting Trigger (SST). Single stage with 3.5-pound pull. It ain't fancy, but it's a nice upgrade that won't break the bank. I also have the same version with the flat-faced trigger.

Hyperfire PDI 2lb short and crisp SA trigger is my last buy buy also have 2 hyperfire's older 24C triggers at 2.5lb , Love the PDI .

Took my new AR to the range today and got it dialed in at 25 yards. The issue is that the trigger is kinda rough and "draggy".
I'm interested in getting a crisp trigger and stretching it out further.
Any recommendations?
There are many good triggers but the one I am familiar with and think is excellent is Geissele. Super two stage trigger.

I mostly have Geissele 2-stage triggers. My first semi-auto rifle is an M1A so I got familiar with a 2-stage trigger. My take is this - if you have time, the 2-stage effectively gives you a light pull for precision (the second stage). If you are in a hurry, you have a 4+ pound trigger which is better and safer when adrenaline is pumping.

I have a Timney cassette style trigger in at least 1 rifle and like it also. You need non-walking pins with any cassette trigger - not a bad thing just be aware.

Giessele G2S is the best AR trigger I own. If you want single stage milspec, the BCM PNT is hard to beat for the money. My results at 100 yards with the G2S in a recent build:

Some years back I purchased a Colt M-4 Carbine at a gun show. Always HATED the stock triggers on these platforms. Before I even fired it, I purchased a Geissele SSA trigger, watched a youtube video install and did it myself, was totally satisfied.

Snubby Fan, good evening. The trigger weight for my match rifle AR is a Geissele and can be measured in ounces. Timney on my DPMS Oracle .308 can be measured in pounds, approximately 1.5 but, for a hunting rifle it is my preference. The one on my Stag M4 carbine is an original factory issue breaks around 2.5 lbs. The Timney trigger, IMO, a good, affordable value. Check out Optics Planet.

What a fun "problem" you and Mrs. Snubby Fan have to solve!

You can get a “cassette” drop-in or one that needs some strong finger pressure to install. Just watch the Utube video on them. Don’t need anti-walk pins with the latter. I have Gisele and LaRue in my rifles. Both good. NV

Similar thing happened here. I got a new Colt AR 15 lightweight LE carbine. It felt like the trigger pull was more than the gun weighed! I put in the Geissele and it is sweet.

Would appreciate knowing which barrel was used in your build?

Also, how was the rifle supported?
Looking to make one of our 6920s, the one with the Geissele SSP, a one ragged hole, rifle.
Have a T36 on it now.

Thx,
RT

There are so many good ones now. My old favorites were the Geissele SD3G and Wilson ttu-3g for fast shooting (single stage).
The AR gold and triggertech are great for 2 stage precision shooting.

For the money though, the 2 stage Larue is quite decent.

This one was my one and only complete build. The upper is an Anderson with Del-Ton upper parts kit, Odin Works 1 in 8" twist 16" .223 Wylde stainless barrel with tunable gas block, Midwest Industries 12.5" MLOK rail and Voxtex Spitfire 3X Prism Scope. The rifle was supported by a Caldwell rest and rear bag from the bench.

For spendy a Geissele SSA or SSA-E
For affordability choose the one lots of gucci brands sell as their own: Any one of the Schmid triggers. If you choose a Schmid trigger, you'll probably never want to upgrade.

Good luck with your 2 stage trigger and the total 5lb total pull weight not the single stage trigger you said you wanted ! Some light single stage triggers can and do strike harder than stock mil spec trigger too .

Good luck
