Seven years on, after acquiring this excellent piece from ZAVMECH.

PhotoBucket stopped hosting photos some time ago, so these are a couple that now reside on Google Photos. Full photo album is here. Photos in orange G10 dress are courtesy of ZAVMECH.

I ultimately changed out the grips to blue Cool Hand G10's with bright screws, and the mags to 8-round Wilson Combat 500 ETM's. The spalted Tamarind grips in some of the photos were custom made by someone in the Southwest, whose name now escapes me.

I couldn't ask for a better looking / running pistol. Honestly, there's nothing else available new that I would rather own, even at twice the price I paid for it! It does have S&W's typical loose trigger. That can probably be corrected, for a price, but it doesn't seem to affect performance.

Every once in a while I think I might put mine up for sale.

All it takes is drawing it one time and it feels like an extension of my hand. It just is so natural....

I have 3 1911pds. One iss my daily carry and I have the others in reserve. They are the best deal for a quality 1911 pistol. I build 1911s and most out of the box pistols require a rework of the sear, disconnector, and springs to make them good for carry but not these. I didn't even have to do a trigger job and I'm real sensitive for a good pistol.

If you are in the market for a wonderful carry gun, give them a try.
