Since my Smith & Wesson Schofield is a modern 2000 model I "think" I might be in the right forum.
I probably did something that most ardent gun collectors may cringe about. I took my Performance Center Schofield and sent it off to TK Custom to have the cylinder cut to accept 45 ACP moon clips (it's a hell of a hot cheaper to shot 45 ACP than S&W 45 Schofield - if you can even find it). The back of the cylinder is now "raw" (no factory bluing) due to the milling.
I want to take this opportunity and have some engraving done and have it refinished. Possibly even change the finish completely (since I have now "modified" it).
Does anyone have any recommendation of an engraver that does decent work at a fair price? I don't mind shipping my revolver.
It can be light work to full engraving...all depend on the cost. I supposed a cheap route could be some engraving on the cylinder and having just that refinished and slapping it back into the frame.
The bottom line is I am shooting it. I would love to have it look a bit different than a stock model 2000.
Thank you in advance for suggestions and recommendations.
