I am buying Apex's new 5" threaded gunsmith barrel. Can anyone recommend a functional compensator to use until The Donald gets the ear protection bill passed (hopefully Jan or Feb 2017)?

I've used a Carver. Lone Wolf, and an SJC 11 port. I liked the performance of the SJC but liked the looks of the Carver. I ended up staying with the SJC. If you're interested, I have a brand new SJC that I bought and then switched platforms to an STI. It's never been installed, it's a 1/2-28 thread pitch and black anodized. Here's a link to their page for the description. SJC Major 9mm 11 Port Aluminum Compensator - SJ Customs I'd sell it for $65 shipped. This compensator is made for barrels designed for silencers that have 3/8" or so of unthreaded barrel protruding past the slide before the threads start. I've forgotten what thread pitch the Apex was supposed to be. (I would have bought one, but couldn't wait any longer and got the STI) If the threads start at the end of the slide, you would have to have some of the rear of the comp milled off, not a big deal but I wanted to be honest up front. (I had to mill the ones I installed on a KKM barrel) Let me know if interested.
