Recommendation for new pair of boots?

Another vote for Justin boots. I have worn Justins for a long time and
found nothing wrong with any of them. I know they make a Wellington
style boot with a side zipper, but don't know about lace up with a side
zipper. Those lace up work boots that vonn mentioned might be available
with a side zipper. You would have to ask a dealer.

I have an old pair of Florsheim Imperials that have a zipper on
the side. They are about 8" high & go up over the ankles. They
do not lace up, but I've put a lot of miles on them and like them
a lot.

Looks like there are almost no options that I can find for American Made, lace-up with a side zipper. Red Wing makes one, but I need to see it in person, not sure it's really what I want. Most likely, I will get Danners that they make a lace in zipper for.

Been wearing US made Danner for several years now. Very comfortable.

Maybe you can find a lace in zipper on line.

Corcoran Field Boot. Made in USA and some have a side zipper.

A little stiff when new but once broken in, they feel great! Oh and with a bit of work, they look sharp with a spit shine!

I have been searching for zipper boots too, I had some ankle surgery in February. It is difficult to say the least finding made in America, zipper boots. Wish you the best!

One of the reasons I went with the Danner 6" boots is because of two ankle surgeries I have had ( ). They offer great support. I'm not sure how zippers will help with that though?

I found a pair of Vietnam jungle boots I bought them took them to a shoe guy to put in side zippers. really like the boots and the zipper.

I had a pair of Frye boots that I really loved - until the dogs chewed them up when I thoughtlessly left them unattended in the living room. That hurt because Frye boots are not inexpensive. The ones I had were made in Mexico. I looked for another pair, but that model had been discontinued. I ordered another style of Fryes that were made in USA, but I found them much less comfortable than the Mexican made ones.

Seeking the perfect pair of boots I bought Wolverines (not very comfortable), Bates (too narrow in the toe-ouch), Skechers for Work (fake leather, but okay otherwise), and most recently Ariat. The Ariats are the most comfortable of the bunch other than my original Fryes (I think the model was called Earl Hiker).

Of course we're all slightly different, so who knows whether my experience will help anyone else.

I always replace the insoles in my boots with either Pedag or Superfeet insoles - something I learned from my hiking experience.

I've had excellent wear from my Danner and Red Wing boots. Recommend either company.

almost all of my working life has been standing or walking. i will say that if you are on your feet 8+ hours at a time, wear Red Wings. i've had many brands, but always come back to red wings. they are more durable, too.
