I checked out Buffalo Bore, CorBon, and DoubleTap, but they warned about their +P loads in anything other than Rugers. This would be in a 25-5 or 625-6 Mountain Gun.

I saw that DoubleTap had this standard pressure load:

DoubleTap Ammunition

Anyone used it? Any other suggestions?

Conceivably it could be used on a hog or a black bear here in NC.

That Double Tap load would be fine for your S&W revolvers. At over a dollar a shot, though, I would be looking into loading my own. In fact, I shoot a 625-6 too, and I do indeed load my own. I still have a bunch of 255 grain Keith SWCs over 10 grains of Unique. According to most of the manuals, that gives a tad over 1000fps from a 7.5" barrel. I have recently dropped the load back to 9 grains of Unique using that same bullet, as well as a Georgia Arms 250 grain rnfp bullet. The 10 grain load isn't unpleasant, and the 9 grain load is downright mild. It will hole a 150 lb Georgia whitetail through and through, though, and drop him right where he stands. I have Ruger .45s, Vaqueros and Blackhawks, as well as a Winchester 94 Trapper. I could load much, much hotter loads in the Rugers, but those pleasant shooting loads will get it done in that caliber. That Double Tap load should handle a Nawth Ca'lina hawg or bear in good shape.;)
