I've noticed many threads over the years in which people inquire about "what's the best gun to shoot an attacking dog with" or "the best gun to shoot a bear with" or "what should I carry when out hiking." In that spirit, what S&W auto do you think is best suited for shooting big fat pumpkins with?

Or is the "Great Pumpkin"

I would think something fast shooting, hi cap and keep the ammo flowing.

I dont think there are too many SW 3000 (I think) shotguns floating around much anymore.

Ah yes. One day I'll be able to tell my grandkids about this historic time in our country's history:

The Great Pumpkin Debate of 2008.

Speedgunner, the pumpkins are just sitting on a stump minding their own business.

Yes, you will! And you can bet your grand kids will listen with rapt attention, hanging on every detail.

"Are they zombie pumpkins or just regular pumpkins? hoppes-no9"

Just regular pumpkins, but I suppose a zombie could be hiding behind one. Given the many different variables of zombie pumpkins, such a subject would merit its own separate thread.

I just took my Sigma 9mm out yesterday to the pumpkin patch at the farm and found out a couple of fun facts (like a 9mm will go through 4 pumpkins and stop in the 5th)so does it matter what you take with you as long as you have fun or are you just trying to make it go splat (if you want it to go splat then I suggest 150-200 yards 300 Mag with ballistic tip bullets)
