With supply chain problems the past 2 years have shown us, I got me thinking what parts for my K, L, N frame revolvers I should have on hand for normal maintenance and most common possible breakdowns?

For semi auto guns, I'd get RSA, main/ hammer/ striker springs, firing pin spring, slide stop, etc.

What should I get for the revolvers?

Spare set of grips, a set of screws, springs and maybe an oversized hand. Rear sight blades with screw & nut. That should be good. Anything serious like a Hammer, Trigger, Studs, is nice to have but a bit pricy. Oh- get yourself some .001" and .002" shims for head-space fixes - that is a common repair. Also don't forget about replacement firing pins and rivets for vintage Revolvers.

If you have multiple but similar guns, at least ones set of parts for each frame size. This way they are able to be used on different guns as needed.

I went a little overboard when I got my parts many years ago but have not had the need to buy anything for decades. I have replaced many parts over the years both because they needed it or I wanted to. It's a nice feeling to know you're self sufficient for common issues that can creep up. When I'm ready too, I can easily sell my stash for way more than I paid. To me that's a warm a fuzzy feeling.

If you are getting serious as a collector (accumulator) spare parts are a smart investment IMHO. I have also bailed out many of my friends multiple times as well when they were in a parts jam.
