Red Dawn

Somebody brought up Zardoz as the worst movie made. However how many of those who saw the movie can name the pistol used. No movie dream gun as I first thought years ago but the pistol was actually manufactured. A semi auto revolver..As to Red Dawn when I first saw it I thought "that can't or won't happen but I think it has happened from within. Of course people say I'm right of Attila the Hun. It amazes me the freedom people (educated?) will give up for a give away. I'm 70 I have never seen any thing like this crap we are experiencing right now and it seems to get worse.

Quite possibly the worst movie ever made.

No, I must disagree. My wife and I were out with some friends of ours, we decided to see a movie, however, we were late to whatever it was we wanted to see so the girls went in to buy tickets while we parked. We were forced to sit through 27 Dresses, I can assure you it is worse than Canadian Bacon.

Webley-Fosberry, also seen in the Maltese Falcon, and I believe several forum members own one.

Think about it! Never in my lifetime, (68 years today), has there ever been more of a red dawn senerio than today! Yes, we have always to some extendt played with the idea or possibility in our minds, but not one part as much as in the last month or two! That SHOULD tell us and the politicans something!

The good people of Guam would disagree slightly. They lived through it when the Japanese came.

There's no way they can make a decent remake of a classic like Red Dawn. Can't be done. It'd be like trying to remake True Grit or Casablanca or Wizard of Oz.

Thanks I knew somebody would know and remember it. Sean Connery's not so notable flick but believe it or not there is a cult following for the flick.

I could imagine a Chinese airlift into Wyoming - please waitee to shoot while rest of brigade takee turn on plane and refuel at San Jose Wal-Mart.

Well, not being a Patrick Swazye or Powers Booth fan I would respectfully disagree. The premise was good and thought provolking, but on the whole I thought the movie was pretty sophomoric in its' presentation. I would think a remake could be done a lot better-this movie was no "Casablanca" or "True Grit" or "Wizard of Oz"by any stretch of the imagination.

It would be pretty easy to make a believable movie about the total economic collapse of America. It would scare people so bad it would make the "Exocist" seem like a Disney comedy!

You know who the director was for this movie? The answer may disappoint you, I still think it's funny though, especially when the geo metro falls apart before he can drive it over the falls.

Nobody cared to look it up? Or did you all already know?

For anyone that didn't know, Canadian Bacon was directed by Michael Moore.

I just heard a short blurb on a local radio station, that Hollyweird is filming a re-make of Red Dawn. According to the local radio guy, the invading enemy will not be the Soviets, because they no longer exist, but the Chinese commies.

I wonder how long it will take to change the "enemy" into conservative, pro life, Christian, gun owning, veterans?

Wolverines!

It will probably be cast with a plethora of black stars also. I'm very far from being a racist but why does every remake of a decent movie I grew up with need to be "politcally corrected"?
I'd say Will Smith can be the pilot and use whatever young rappers to fill the other spots.

Red Dawn. One of my favorite all time movies. I'll have to pop it in tomorrow.

Now that's funny I don't care who you are...My deputy was one of the people that was with ITT in Kuwait when the Iraq forces came in. He said watching those conscripts in a super market was down right funny. They were much more about looting than shooting.

Worst movie of all time was......
Anne of a thousand years. I believe it took that much time to watch it!

I think that Red Dawn is a good movie, not that the acting or realism were that great and it was obviously pretty low-budget, but simply when considered in the context of the time it was made. Reagan was in office, the Evil Empire was still evil and considered a grave threat. The basic premise was, at the time, not beyond belief. My son, who was born in '78, loved the movie and must have watched it 30 times as a kid. He could recite the lines verbatim.

Leah Thompson, who played one of the girls.....I can't remember the character's names right now but she was the one who grew enamored of the Air Force pilot.....was seated at a table next to me in a local restaurant just two weeks ago. Her mother lives here and she is often in the area visiting.

Good stuff.

Before TRUE GRIT, Glen Campbell had never acted in a movie. After TRUE GRIT, his record was still unblemished.

I haven't seen Canadian Bacon yet, but so far I go with "Zardoz" being the worst movie ever made.

Ok, maybe it isn't the worst ever made, but it isn't good. Never heard of Zardoz, but it doesn't sound good.

You don't want to see Zardoz...trust me on that. After five minutes you beg for the sweet release of death. If you show it down in Gitmo to the detainees, then you would seriously have a violation of human rights. (picture, Sean Connery with a ponytail and wearing black leather wrestling tights similair to Bautista in the WWE
