Red Dot info needed.

Might sound stupid but.........it is feasible to remove the adjustable rear sight from a model 66 or 60 and use the screw holes to install a red dot mount? Along those lines.......does anyone offer one of those mounts if it is feasible.
If not, what is the best way to mount a red dot on one of those guns. Also interested in a mount for a 442 if it doesn't involve drilling or a permanent mount.
Any info appreciated.

Well one gun you mention is a K frame and the other is a J frame so two different animals there. The above mentioned base along with Alchin bases require drilling and tapping. If the front of your K frame rear sight is round then your gun is already drilled. If you have a square end on the front of your rear sight then drilling is the preferred method. Through personal experience I have found that any of the no drill mounts will damage the finish on your gun. As for the J frame gun I have no idea if anyone makes a mount for that frame size.

KISS. Consider just using a Crimson Trace laser activated grip.

The red dot on any target doesn't know if its source is rail or grip mounted!

Red dot optic on a NAA .22 Magnum Widow-maker just because.

Simplicity rules.

AND your holster doesn't need to change!

Whatever you do, when researching, look for quality first. Quality RDS (Aimpoint is my preference but others are good too) and quality mounting. I am not familiar with RDS on revolvers, so other than that, I am not useful.
