I've got 2 years to go 'till I turn 90 and my eyes just aint what they used to be.

My go-to handgun is a S&W Model 39.

I would like to mount a Crimson Trace CTS-1550 Red Dot sight on the Model 39 but am having trouble finding the right adapter.

Has anyone had any experience with this setup?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the machine shop IMPACT MACHINE can mill the slide for a dot.

Impact can do it. I had Dual Hammer Industries in Cali cut my 459 for some Staccato plates. 39-2 might be more complicated due to the lollipop rear sight, but fundamentally the same principle

Yes, however i havent found that the slightly reduced depth of the cut effects the FP Safety or Mag Disconnect in any way. The plate in my case still keeps the appropriate amount of pressure needed for both levers to function. A trimmed spring for either plunger would likely resolve any issues, but i havent had those issues occur in the ~500 rounds i’ve put through since. I’m planning to shoot the snot out of it after it comes back with the compensator for it
