Red Dots

Hey gang I am new to 15-22 world and need some beginner help. I am looking at these 2 red dots based on what I have read Sightmark SM14002 or Sig Sauer Red Dot SIGHTMRD. Would you recommend either of these if not what would you reccomend looking for a red dot/holographic set up. Also what is the best way to mount these or are the ready to be mounted from the factory.

I would not recommend Sightmark. My buddy bought one and it won't hold zero.

Not sure what price you are looking at, but with a quick google search, for the money I saw these two sights priced at, I would go with the Bushnell TRS-25 or one of the Primary Arms red dots.

As far as how to mount, that will depend on if you want to co-witness with your iron sights or back up sights, or remove the irons all together. If you want to co-witness, you will need a riser, and the height will depend on what red dot sight you purchase and how you want it to co-witness (do you want the iron sights to be in the lower 1/3 of the view in the red dot, or for them to appear centered in the red dot.)

Bushnell TRS - 25 with 1 inch riser for lower 1/3 co - witness or. 083 riser for absolute co - witness.

+1 for Bushnell TRS25. If you go to Amazon, get that sight along with the UTG medium riser rail mount. You'll be all set. Leave the iron sites on.....batteries run out.
