RED HIGHLIGHTED SW TRADEMARK

Hello, new here first query.
A 629-4 has this SW in red, Does anyone know if SW put it there and if so is it of any significance , or did someone get out the nail polish ? Thank-you for looking.

Bubba did that, hopefully a little acetone will remove it.

Yep, a previous owner thought it looked good like that. Hopefully, the application of acetone will dissolve whatever paint was used to fill in the roll marks.

China markers or paint pencils are two easy ways of filling in those markings. Usually not too much trouble to remove, but I have a few S&Ws that still have that wee bit of bling. (White china markers work well on blued revolver markings, if you feel the urge to tart one up.)
