This prensentationCentennial was sent from the president of S*W to C.K. Davis, president *(later Chairman) of Remintong Arms. It was factory engraved with Davis' name. It remained in Davis' estate and sold in 1999 to a collector by Davis' daughter .
This pre model 40 is finished in "bright" high polished blue with unnumber rosewood grips. Aside from the Jinks letter, the specs may be seen on the bottom of the maroon box. The gun remains in high conditon, however seems to be missing the grip safety locking pin. The grips were difficult to remove so I have no idea where the pin went. Other than the grease pencil markings on the bottom of the box it appears no label was ever attached. The box has some shelf wear but is in overall prety nice condtion.
