Reed's 41 Special

Hello forum friends. do any of you have experience with Reed's Ammunition & Research, LLC. ammo that you could share with me. they have about 6 different loads of remington 41 Special. i have only found 1 other ammo supplier (LAX) that offered 41 special and they only have 1 wadcutter load. bought some of that and thought of buying a box of each offered by Reed"s. all the big 3 ammo companies offer 41 mag but no special, and they are quite pricey, not to mention rowdy, to practice with. thanks to all. kenny

Ive used reeds in a 357 Max
180 gr SSP bullet
Very accurate and good Ammo.

If you reload I have found .41spl brass at Powder Valley. If I recall correctly it was Starline.

Mr. Reed has a good reputation and I have heard of no knocks on his loading quality.............

thanks for the replies. their website leaves a bit to be desired but if i had a website i'm sure it would be "greatly" flawed. i am going to give them a try. i was impressed with the variety of ammo for both rifles and pistols that was available at what seems like good prices in todays crazy climate. haven't gotten into reloading yet. maybe some day. thanks again, kenny please pardon unrelated photos. i can't seem to help myself

I mean no disrespect but, what does this gain as opposed to simply light loading Magnum cases.

What am I not seeing something?

no offence taken. seems to me that starline is just trying to fill the gap of a lower powered round that, as i understand it, was part of the developers original ideas. special for police work and mag for hunting. i have only found a handful of manufacturers that load the special. none of the big 3 offer a reduced power load. i don't reload but i agree. a loaded down magnum case would achieved the same results but the major manufacturers choose to not do so. i also think starline is the only manufacturer of the brass. tapping into an under served desire for reduced loads from knuckleheads like me that have never gotten into reloading. did that make sense to anyone but me. kenny

I was lucky enough about 8 years ago to obtain some of Starline's first foray into 0.41 Special. I had been reloading 0.41 Mag cases prior o that. Then about 2 years ago, Starline made it a permanent part of their stable, so I have 500 cases awaiting reload. My 6.5" 0.41 Mag S&W and its partner in crime (8 3/8th) version are simply waiting for me to take them to the range again. Quite entertaining when people ask, and I point out that this is the only cartridge where the Magnum did not start life as the regular round. Dave_n
