I found the stocks quite a few years ago and they were old and dingy. At some point, someone added a high gloss shellac to them, which had started to flake off and dull.
I sent them out to be refinished and while they were gone, some research by a good friend brought me to this article. It is very likely that the stocks were made by David Wayland. They are made of a very dark hardwood (very hard to photograph) and the diamond is the nut for the screw, very indicative of his work.
They are installed on a 1969 Austin Behlert built PPC gun.
I still have yet to find pictures of Davids stocks from the early 60s with silver diamonds or silver animals to compare with. If anyone has any of his original stocks, please post pics.
