Registered Magnum Question?

I love reading posts on these treasures of the past. I was wondering? Were many Registered
Magnums made with factory engraving? I am not even sure if S&W offered engraving services back then but if so I would think price on one of these would be very high?

Yes, there are a few that will letter as factory engraved, however the bulk of the engraved guns you see today in collections were done later by outside the factory engravers, however some of these engravers were drop shipped the guns in the white for enraving and then the guns were finished by the factory and shipped to the buyer.
