Just inherited my second S&W and this one is different from my great grandfathers Model 1917 service revolver that has been passed father to son since World War I.

It is a regulation police nickle plated (four screw) with a serial number of 421xxx with barrel marking of 32 long.

Since he got this from one of his aunts I have no idea about date of manufacture and was wondering if anyone had an idea about how old it is...not worried about value because it is going in the case with the other guns so my son can have them when I am sure he is ready to get the stories and the responsibility of passing them on to the next generation. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks
Bob

Welcome to the forum.

According to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson 3rd Edition (Supica & Nahas), it's a .32 Hand Ejector 3rd Model made between 1911 and 1942. The serial range listed for those years is 263,001 to 536,684.

Are you sure it's not a 5 screw?

Sorry about the typo...it is a five screw. I need to get larger keys or smaller fingers. And thanks for the quick reply.
