There is an alternate story; the song is mis-pronounced and there was another reindeer in the herd that wasn't allowed to pull the sleigh because she was always mocking Rudolph.
Her name was Olive, and she was "the other reindeer".
Actually, it's Donder and Blixem...meaning Thunder and Lightening in Dutch...named by none other than Sinterklaas himself.
