Reliable Info on Oak Island tonight at 9:00am

206 episodes? You gotta be kidding me! I remember watching the first few episodes several years back, just because I was intrigued by that readers digest article waaaaaay back when I was a kid. But 206…that’s some stringing along right there!

I did use to watch Bering Sea Gold for a couple seasons, but mostly because I was into technical diving at the time and I liked all the gadgets.

Hot dang, and yet with Google and Wiki right there at your fingertips you dare

prove Honest Abe correct .....

Rather watch paint dry. At least I could think in peace without some fool yammering in the background.

I keep thinking about 17th and 18th century technology as far as digging that deeply. The manpower numbers would be huge and the level of secrecy would be zero. IF someone buried something valuable it's long gone by now.

Oak Island is just a decoy. The treasure owners set up so future treasure hunters would waste time looking there and not where the treasure is really buried.
The treasure is actually buried under jufudhcjbkvjkg . . .

I'm very wary of hype. You see NEW EVIDENCE in search for Amelia Earhart. The show has 45 minutes of rehashing what everybody has known, or NOT known for years and in the last few minutes say that some had a theory and searched but haven't found anything.

Recall a few seasons back a gold coin was discovered by a diver I believe but he dropped it. never heard another word about that incident! Wish that Drayton would take a hike. Him and his button, coin, and ox shoe finds are just crap.

So , people using crude tools , dug sophisticated tunnels and passages that has so far defeated some of the most sophisticated drilling and digging equipment ?

Maybe space aliens helped, BWAAA, HA, HA, HA, ;)

Started watching this show from the beginning before I started my degree program in archaeology. Eight years after I graduated I can tell you this, they found an 18th century fur trading settlement. Previous treasure hunters destroyed most of the data that could have been gathered about that settlement and the Laginas destroyed quite a bit more. Gary Drayton can’t do anything that anyone else with a metal detector couldn’t do. They basically ignore what they HAVE found because it isn’t “The Treasure”. The show Diggers was a much better and more satisfying show if you like watching amateurs find things with metal detectors. The archaeologists they eventually added to legitimize their continued presence at the site have nothing to work with. Real archaeologists hate TV archaeologists by the way. Zahi Hawass is especially despised. I think he’s alright but he’s an Egyptologist and that’s off topic here. I continued watching Oak Island for the same reason I occasionally watch Ancient Aliens: because they’re both comedy shows and I find them hilarious.

1000 years from now an archeologist is going scratch his head when he discovers that Oak Island resembles a block of Swiss Cheese.
