I recently found a pretty good price on some PMC .223 ammo.
The question is - what has to be done to the PMC ammo to reload it.
Just by looking at the rounds, the primers look somewhat different.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

How do they look different? If you are referring to the ring around the primer, that would be the crimp. That is not unusual. I de-prime and then chew away the crimp with a countersink. PMC is decent .223 brass and I have loaded lots of it without any problems.

RCBS makes a crimp removal tool that goes in your press (you'll want a single-stage for it). The Dillon tool may be faster, but the RCBS is far cheaper and works for both my .223 and .30-'06 cases.

I've always used my RCBS case deburring tool to chamfer away the primer crimp. Fast and easy for me, a quick twist of the wrist and it's gone.

It doesn't open up the flash hole? I have a Lyman deburring tool and I don't think it would remove the crimp w/o contacting the flash hole as well.

I bought the RCBS swaging tool/die after discovering that my case of PMC 223 had crimped primers. It works fine, just an extra one time step.

No, my RCBS deburring tool has a "blunt" tip - it doesn't touch the flash hole.

You could always grind off the tip of your Lyman tool to get the same effect if you want - I haven't found a need for a sharp tip on a case mouth deburring tool.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
That is the information that I was looking for. I have a bunch of the PMC ammo, and I need to reload it after I fire it. Looks like it should be alright to reload with the proper equipment.
