Relocating need help...

Looking for residents of Wilmington area of North Carolina to chime in and let me know how you like the area and whether it's a good / great place to live. Looking to relocate just my wife and I no children don't need any school systems nor do we need jobs both of us are retired in our late 50's -

Was looking at the Winston/Salem area earlier but want to be closer to the Ocean.

Lived kind of near there a while back (Goldsboro), been through New Bern and that area numerous times. Nice enough, not too big, but big enough to have everything you need, pretty safe a I recall but that was 16 or 17 years ago. Some damn hot in the summer, though, that's one of the reasons I left NC and came to Maine.

Where are you now? Have you looked at other places than NC? What do you want to do on the ocean? Do you fish or hang at the beach? I live on the Maine coast and it's really nice here, very rural, all small towns, never too hot in the summer, winters aren't too bad because we're by the water, lobsters are cheap, good people, low crime rate, and real estate prices have been dropping for the last couple of years (like everywere).

Wilmington is now the choice - I am currently in VT, 70 miles from Montreal so Maine IS OUT - I HAVE HAD IT WITH WINTER...

As far as heat how's it feel today - lol... it's 90 already here and the humidity is in the 90percentile range -

That's why there's air conditioning!!!
