Remembering Mom

This morning I'm remembering my Mom as it was her birthday today 5/10/27.
She passed on 1/2/13 after a long illness.
I will alway's remember her birthdate as I was born on her birthday.
I used to tease her that I was a heck of a birthday present being the first boy after 2 girls.

May 12 is always a sad day for me. I lost my mother on May 12, 1999.

May 12 is always a sad day for me. I lost my mother on May 12, 1999.

It's not really a sad day for me . Just another day that I remember my Mom on a day we had in common.
At the end I was happy to see her suffering end as she was totally blind and her dementia was really bad so she went on to be with my Dad and the Lord.

Ive ended up being moms caretaker (long story)
There are good days and not so good,her memory is going.Shes 86 and lived through the blitz.A lot of stories there that you just have to wait on
Pop developed Alzheimer's in his 60s and made it to 80 back in 95.He had a lot of interesting stories from before the war,but very few during it.
It's an interesting job

When dad passed away on the last day of January this year, A friend from church told me about her mother passing last summer. There wasn't any sadness, it was about the grandparents her mom hadn't seen in 40 odd years and the brother who didn't make it home from Vietnam, that they got to see each other again! Gave me a whole new perspective!

I got to take my mom for Dr. visit yesterday, then her new favorite place for lunch. She just turned 86, and we're enjoying all we can, while we can!

I was lucky enough to know a great-grandmother, two grandmothers, my mother and my stepmother who married my dad after my mother died. My mother passed in 1991 from Lou Gehrig's disease, and at her funeral the preacher said that Mom was released from the prison her body had become. I was happy that Pop was able to have happiness and companionship with my stepmother for 22+ years before she passed in 2015.
