Walmart has 12 and 20 gauge 1187 Sportsman's on sale for $249. I just picked up one of each. I believe they were $474 dropped to $349 and again to $249. These were located in the back and not on display.

The links are below to check if they are in stock and on sale in your area. Add your zip code to check.

12 gauge 1187 Sportsman:

"DO NOT PUBLISH Remington 9879 1187 Sportsman Semi-Automatic Shotgun, 12 Gauge, 28"", 3"", Black Synthetic Stock, Black Finish" -UPC- 047700298795 zip - - Walmart Local Stock Finder - Brickseek, Bmseek Clearance in Local Walmart

20 gauge 1187 Sportsman:

"DO NOT PUBLISH Remington 83626 1187 Semi-Automatic Shotgun, 20 Gauge, 21"", 3"", Synthetic Stock, Black Finish" -UPC- 047700836263 zip - - Walmart Local Stock Finder - Brickseek, Bmseek Clearance in Local Walmart

Hopefully these links work.

If the link say the Walmart near me has 2 in stock are they 249.00?. Or the higher price? How do you know which store has the deal?

Never mind I looked again and see the prices. Thanks, Larry

Wow that is cheap! Probably about the same price of purchasing another barrel for my 1980 1100. Know a few who have owned the 1187 and were happy with them.

I bought one of the 20's today in Walterboro SC Walmart. I called 8 Walmarts. 90% of the time NON ONE would answer the phone in the sporting goods dept.. The few that did had sold out of the 20 ga.. These guns at $249 are sleepers and go fast when found. It will give you a headache trying to locate a store and talk to real people about it.

Thanks for the heads up. Picked up a 20 last night! Finish and fit definitely not old Remington but serviceable. Extremely stiff but some lube and judicious polishing and shooting will fix that over time.

These are probably the best deal for the annual Walmart firearm clearance sale. (Still waiting on another potential drop on the Marlin/Henry lever guns) Last year I scored a new Mini 14 Ranch for $399 and a Mossberg 535 for $129 during this sale and couldn't resist snagging an 11-87 12 ga today when these dropped to $249.

This one will be a desert beater for the upcoming dove/quail season, I always worry about dropping my Benellis while out hunting.

Walmart also has some Savage 17s also on clearance, the guy in front of me in line got an A17 for $189 plus tax.

Happy hunting all!

Hard to pass on some of these. I also picked up a Ruger mini 14 for $399 last year. Recently found a .243 Weatherby vanguard deluxe for $300. The Nikon monarch was also marked down to $99. All of them were in the back.

How do you guys find out......What's on sale in the "back"?

Typically I've found that if its listed as in stock in the link, it is in stock at that location. I've been told several times "we're out of of stock" by the sales associate, only to have the manager pull them out of the back. Some are on display but many are not.

I never call first. I've gotten the run around a few times. Sometimes the employees dont see the price until its scanned and will hold it for someone else.

scored Christmas presents!

Got lucky and a coworker and myself were able to score 8 of these for Christmas presents for our family members. I really appreciate jay73 for sharing this information with us!

We visited 6 additional Walmarts in 3 days trying to find another 20 for my future SIL. But came up empty. Some "associates" were very helpful. Others could care less..Most gun dept.'s in most stores were not "manned" and we had to seek out help.

Do you have to call each store because the on line price here is the same as in the store which is $457 (not a bad price)? And the link shows only 20 gauges with a 21" barrel which would be an awesome home defense gun but I need a bird hunting barrel, do they have longer ones on sale?

While all the stated prices are good, I’m hesitant to buy any new Remington product. I’ve had two 870s (mfg in 2007 and 09) that I had duracoaed as they tended to rust after being cleaned and stored.

I understand any frustration you may have. Often times I have to go to the same location several times for shift changes until I get an someone willing to find the item of interest.

I was also denied a purchase once. My uncle (who is retired PA state police) and I were accused of a straw purchase.

It is hit or miss for these things. It helps sometimes to ask the sales person to run the sku number on the handheld. If it shows up, they have it. If they further deny it, the batfe may want to know there is a missing firearm.
