My job took me by Bass Pro shop Near Toledo Ohio today, a rare occaision. Checked out their ammo selection and found they had the Remington FBI load in stock...$32.
So I bought a box.
The last time I bought a box of this ammo was at least a year ago, but I still had a speedloader full for my Model 15-3.
Comparing new with old, two things stood out.
One, much less of the bullet is seated beyond the case mouth, making a shorter overall length.
Two, the older version has the case mouth crimped visibly into the bullet, while the new version really dosn't look crimped at all...since I was planning on using some of this ammo in an Airweight J-frame, bullet creep looks like a distinct possiblity.

I would think that there is enough bullet in the case to hold em, but you never know. Let us know how you make out with them, my stock is getting old too.

Please keep us posted. Since Federal dropped their 38G load,
the Remington has been the most easily found item of the type, other than Buffalo Bore.

The longer overall length loads that Remington made several years
ago were not correct. I bought a box of those and had some trouble
getting them to chamber in a model 36. I am glad to see that Remington
is seating them deep like they are supposed to be. I have several boxes
from the 1970s and they are seated deep...that is the right way. They should be just fine.

The box of them I bought last week are right.

The longer load I bought last year chambered with no problem in my Model15-3, and in my Model 38 Bodyguard.
I tried a couple cylinders full of the new shorter load in my Bodyguard at the range today, and had no issues.

Cheapest receipt I can find on my computer is for 18.99 from ATG. However, I specifically remember buying as many as you would like at gun shows, (some california outfit that drives a semi of ammo around to shows in the SW) for 15.99 per 50. They also had the Winchester and Federal 7.62x51 for 10.99 a box during the entire shortage and panic.

ETA the receipt is from 03/09, but I bought a whole bunch more at the fun show after that. I also got a ish load of 38+p+ 147 gr federal hydrashoks for $19/50.

I bought a bunch at ATG a while ago at a decent price; they're higher now!

The longer Remington's will not chamber in some older guns, there was a thread on this subject within the last year. I won't try to find it, but below is a picture I posted in it showing the length of the longer Remington FBI load (second from right). Far right is a .357 Magnum, on left are regular FBI loads. The long Reminton will not chamber in my 1970 M60, but will in my 1980-something M60.

This question coming from a non-reloader

stiab, are those bullets seated deeper in some of the cases and shallow in the others do to the type of powder in them and the amount of the powder to get them to +P specs?

I'm not sure why Remington went to the longer length, but I can't imagine it was a good idea. All the ammo seen in the pic is factory loaded.
