I recently was able to buy this from a guy I met last fall, said he owned a number of target rifles & would probably sell some in the future. A couple of wks ago I stopped & asked if he would sell any, & left with this one. Remington model 37 [.22 LR] with Remington rear adjustable peep sight with a Redfield globe sight on the front. Made in 1952 it has the 1940 updates as well. This week I found a scope at the right price for it, a R A Litschert 15X scope with Unertl type rings, etc. It came with the single shot magazine & I was able to purchase a 5 rnd mag for it as well.

ammo?

RdrBill, what ammo brand is the most accurate in your model 37, I have seen some owners like standard velocity best.

To find an ammo that an individual rifles likes? I start with Eley Club or Team. If necessary go up from there. RWS also has Target and R-50, & R-100. Lapua has a few also, but Wolf Match and Match Extra were good also. Try and stay away from High Velocity, stick with Standard Velocity or sub-sonic. I bought a brick of Winchester T-22 but haven't found a gun the likes it yet (only tried it in 3 of my pile of rifles). It just takes time!

As a collector, I like the Winchester model 52. As a shooter I've had Anschutz model 54's and Walther KKM's, but my best was the model 37. Federal Champion shot better than I could.
