Remington 44Mag Medium Load?

It was labelled ''medium load'' and if I recall correctly,it pushed a lead SWC at around a claimed 1000Fps.It was offered in the late '70s -early '80s.
To my knowledge, nobody is offering such a load nowadays.Guess you'll have to either load your own or go with .44Spl.

I bought some to use in my Ruger single actions. Full power were no problem in the Smiths but the Rugers rolled up in my hand so hard it was a knuckle buster. When I started reloading I still had 4 boxes left. Put them into storage just because I had the brass and it was easier to roll my own.

I bought and shot a lot of the Remington "medium velocity" in the green and yellow box back in the late 70s and early 80s. If I recall correctly it only had modest accuracy past 18-24 rounds as it leaded like a soldered pipe. I thought it was a decent woods carry load as it slightly exceeded the nominal 45 Colt ballistics. It didn't cave in your eardrums like full power loads when you fired a shot or two in the woods. Later, as was posted, it was offered in yellow boxes in the UMC line. I have 2 50 round boxes of it that I wanted to chronograph and shoot some off the bench. One of these days.
Also, I think the purpose of this load was for law enforcement use. At least I remember being told that. I pretty much stopped using it when I developed cast bullet midrange loads that were more accurate and didn't lead nearly as much. And were much cheaper. I remember paying 18 to 20 bucks or so a box for the Remington Mid range loads back in 1979 to 1983 time frame.
