I've been using Remington 250 grain lead bullets, 0.455 inches, for many years for loading .455 Webley and some .45 Colt. Last year I ran out and could not find them anyplace. I e-mailed Remington and they said they had discontinued them and had no plans to offer them again. I tried Hornady 255 grain 0.454 lead bullets with good results, but at almost twice the price. I was going to order some more today and when I checked the Midway site I was delighted to find the Remington bullets in stock again! I immediately ordered 1000 bullets for $129 + $18 shipping - $10 discount for orders over $100. Bullets should arrive Wednesday and I'm very pleased.

Last summer, one of my friends bought a .455 Webley. He came to me and as I have many moulds in .452,I was able to ''beagle''one so that it spits bullets at .4545.My friend tried them;one hole at 15 yds.He ordered 1K.
Casting sure adds flexibility to a loading bench!

Webley Mark VI

My Webley has been ground to accept .45acp with moon clips. I have been shooting lead bullets sized to .451. Accuracy is OK, but not astounding. Would the .455 bullets work with my Webley when loaded in .45acp cases?

Thanks!

Yes, you can certainly use these bullets in .45 ACP or .45 Autorim cases. I've used these bullets in .45 ACP in my 1917 Colt. You just have to bell the case mouths a bit more to seat the larger bullets. You'll probably get better accuracy as most Webley revolvers have larger groove diameters (.455-.456) than .45 ACP (.451-.452).

If these are the bullet I think they are, they have a slight hollow base that swages up and down upon firing, which makes them a great choice for revolvers with oversized or mismatched throats. They work very well at target velocities in my Colt SAA .45c with the oversized throats that were common in these guns.

The bullets have a hollow base, and are very soft, which makes them ideal for for revolvers with oversize throats and/or barrels. Remington uses these bullets in their .45 Colt ammo. They also have an "old school" look that I like because of their black overall lubricant and slightly flat nose profile - they look just like the bullets in old catalog drawings.

Any of these 45cal hb bullets shoot extremely well in all of the 45cal firearms.

I had no idea $0.10 a lead bullet is a good price, glad you found them.

Original bullets for a 455 can be cast, using a RCBS mold. The 45-265-RN-HB casts authentic 455 bullets that offer superior accuracy in my 455 S&Ws over any 45 Colt bullet.

I do not know of any suppliers offering an original 455 bullet design today, but some are found from time to time for sale from sellers using this mold.
