Remington ammo in Arkansas back on line

I may be behind the times but I didn't think there were any problems with the REM-UMC bargain ammo loaded by that plant. I used to buy their 100 packs at Wal-Mart a few years ago. I laid in a good bit of it in .380, .38spl, .357Mag, and .45ACP. I have shot a little of it along and never had any trouble. Of course I shoot mostly handloads and will probably leave most of it for my Grandkids.........

I know it's a different company now, but there was a blurb on the interweb talking about how the Illion, NY plant was starting to bring back workers. The piece said that they were going to restart production on the 870 first. Remington didn't go into the tank because of a lack of demand.

I believe ATK bought the ammo division. I think that is a good thing as they already have Speer, Federal and CCi. They are making a lot of the ammo in the US..........

I hope this means 12 gauge birdshot will be available soon. I stocked up on everything else but rarely shoot my shotgun and assumed if I wanted to birdshot would always be available like it was during the 2013 shortage. Lots of overpriced buckshot is available but birdshot, even overpriced birdshot, is scarcer than 9mm at 2019 prices.

I made the same mistake in 2013 with 22 ammo during the prior shortage.

When I lived in Arkansas I used to hear people use the Remington shot towers as a landmark. I hope they are running 24/7 now. They should be. Short of printing money making ammo has got to be the most profitable business in the US right now.

The last Ammo that I saw at Cabela's in cases amounts was Shotgun Shells.
But that was a while back.
The only Shotgun Shells they had the last time I was there were some small boxes of Slug and Turkey Loads.
And priced HIGH!

Now let's just hope the Vista Company that now owns them has upgraded Remington ammo's quality standards.
I would get occasional misfires with Thunderbolts depending on the gun. Otherwise considering the limited amount of factory ammo I use Remington has been fine.
