Yep, I got my Mossberg 590 Shockwave in December of 2018 as well and I had to special order it because they were sold out everywhere. I also live in a house with narrow halls/stairwells which are unsuited for manuvering around with a full-length Shotgun.
Folks would desperately try to convince me to try all manner of workarounds to carry a conventional Shotgun instead, (folding stocks, collapsible stocks, braces, etc) but obviously I had already considered and subsequently ruled out the viability of such alternatives in my own unique living quarters, but folks who think in absolutes seemingly can't wrap their heads around such complex concepts as folks living in smaller homes which simply cannot accommodate the length of a full-length riot shotgun, nor that the raptor grip distributes recoil differently than a standard vertical pistol grip, even if said grip does include a folding stock/brace which I can't use anyway because it adds too much length to the Shotgun.
Don't even get me started on the AR/AK Pistol Fanatics who apparently believe that rifle rounds fare better out of a 9"-12" barrel than buckshot does out of a 14" barrel, much less in urban legends like shorter barrels are actually beneficial to the performance of rifle rounds because they will keyhole out of a short barrel and tumble straight through an attacker. *sigh* Meanwhile, back in reality, the US Military has funded the R&D of what, 3 or 4 different cartridges in a desperate attempt at making short-barreled M4s more effective, yet hasn't adopted a single one while both Military and Law Enforcement has been using short barreled shotguns including ones of similar grip design to that of the Shockwave/Tac-14 to great effect for several decades.
