So I couldn't find a holster I liked locally mainly because they were too bulky, currently in talks with a local guy who makes them for a basic small one j-clip (for dress shirts) kydex holster but it could be a few month wait. I like having a clip for that extra "you're secure bro" feeling since I'm going through the "first time" syndrome. It's one reason I'm wanting the tuck option on Remora as I get a clip for it.

I find my 4-5 o'clock position is my most comfortable for sitting in the work truck and bending over picking stuff up all day. I was pointed to a Remora holster and I'm torn as I can't handle one without buying it online first.

I was thinking of getting
Holster Color*: NS Black
Holster Lining Upgrade*: Black Denier (not sure if leather would help here)
Modification 1*: Sweat Shield (Right Hand)
Modification 2*: Tuck Holster (Right Hand)

I sweat a lot as I work outside in 100F weather but I plan to wear tank tops under my shirt as I wont be able to tolerate gun rub. I wanted the "tuck holster" so I could tuck in my dress shirt for church (got permission) as well as at work (will soon lol). I was looking at the Full Sweat Shield but I heard it was causing magazine release issues on some guns, obstructed gun pull, and was too bulky.

Just curious what you guys thought? I'm carrying an SD9VE and the gun is great but only at the 4-5 position (behind the back is nice but I worry about pulling/slipping and falling on it). Thank you.

Dig it!

I now use my Remora as my IWB carry method about 99% of the time now. Carry a j-frame and the Remora is simply perfect.

I absolutely endorse holsters with minimal bulk; Remora fits that requirement. It is quite secure and though I rarely carry absent trousers/shorts with a belt, the Remora does work with athletic shorts/sweatpants, too.

I have two; don't recall a sweatshield being an option when I ordered my first one but is necessary for carry in hot weather. BTW, I also carry at the 4-5 position.

Be safe.

As you probably know if you've searched about Remoras on this forum, I have about two dozen different Remoras with different options. I have posted photos of the tuckable here. I never got one with a sweatshield, though. Anyhow, I like them a ton, and wish they'd been around when I started carrying in the '80s.

Any issues with your guns because of this? Are you by chance a heavy sweater as well? My big thing is I don't want to rust the gun but I imagine weekly oiling will be required during heavy sweating months. I will go check your pictures out as well, thank you.

Notice any issues with sweat getting into the holster? Any rust or other problems occur because of it?

Thanks, I went a head and got one with the normal sweat guard and the tuck for my dress shirts. Will see what I think about it in the next few when I get it.

I've got a few and they're the most comfortable IWB I have.
Easy to don and doff, stays put almost like magic.
The guns I use in them are stainless or pretty impervious to moisture and sweat, although I still wipe them down every day and do a lint check.
They do tend to close up when the gun is withdrawn but there is a version with a stiffener that helps some with that.
It's still pretty easy to reholster and I like the ability to easily move the holster around for comfort or deeper concealment or whatever else you need to do with it, plus they're inexpensive!

Yeah I got the sweat guard and tuck and I must say after 5 hours of sitting in church and having it poke my side I was pretty comfy. Although I don't like the tuck at all for daily carry and they only made the stick material on one side because of it....means I gotta buy another normal version now ><

Biggest problem I have with the tuck though is I needed a extended clip for deeper conceal....I know many don't use it but I like that extra feeling of protection.

I was using the Remora IWB holster for my 642 and now use it on my 640 Pro. The only problem I found is when I first got it I kept thinking it would fall out of my pants. It doesn't budge at 4 o'clock for me. I also didn't get the reinforced top and it stays nice and tight to my side with almost no printing.

I got the Remora reinforced top with sweat shield for my 642 j-frame, and one for my new SD9VE. Works great.

Remora with sweat shield.
I have 2-3 remora's all have the sweat . Great holsters in my opinion.

Which sweat shield did you get - "full" or partial.

I'm thinking of using it for both Appendix and pocket carry for my Shield (the gun, not the modification to the holster :) )

I've two Remoras and two more coming.

They are great people to work with.

Great holsters. I have found nothing else that keeps your gun as close to the body and in place.

Had an issue with my M36 hammer spur wearing into the lining of the holster. It would sometimes hang up on the draw. This was in an older holster that I have carried a ton and have done 1000's of dry-fire draws with. Simply was wearing out...nothing lasts forever. I trimmed some of the lining and still carry that rig with confidence.

Just got another Remora for my 4" 686....conceals great with that rather large gun.

I have the full sweat shield on all of them. I use them with an un-tucked shirt, so I did not want any part of the firearm against my skin...They work great, are washable, and have a great warranty.

I contacted Remora to get their recommendation - for pocket carry they don't suggest the full sweat shield, so I ordered the partial version. Hope it's comfortable enough for the times I use it IWB.

I got one , no sweat shield, I use it when I don't wear a belt, I use a Kydex holster with sweat shield when I use a belt.

I prefer the partial sweat shield version with the Remora Hyde option - especially for the pistols I occasionally carry in my pocket, but also can carry them IWB because of the Remora's flexibility. Some eye candy...

I guess my skin is just too sensitive! Got the holster today and within an hour developed a rash where it made contact with my skin :(. Other than that it does what they say - sticks in place and aside from the rash was comfortable to wear. So if you've got tougher skin than me it's worth trying.

Just sent them an email about a return and from what everyone says about the company don't expect to have any problems.
