Congrats!

I'm assuming you did not get any additional information on the gun? The conversation did not start with...."So, nice gun but at what point did you take off the stock Magna grips and put on these $500 'Coke Bottle' grips?"

:)

I never even mentioned the grips...it wasn't clear the price factored in the fact that they were cokes..after the deal was finished, the dealer winked and said "and you want to keep these grips, right?"

To be fair, this gun was the red headed stepchild of the table. This guy had some really really nice stuff w/boxes that stood out. Including a model 15 with and 8 3/8" barrel in nickel...pristine.

The model 15 with the 8 3/8 barrel is uncommon in itself. They were produced in small numbers because the model 14 people were asking for them after the 14 had been discontinued. I sold one I had for a crazy amount of money last year. I still can't get over it. The interesting factor is it being in nickle. Did you look to see if it was stamped as such?

I did not check to see if it was stamped nickel or not. The box matched as I recall, and I think the asking was $1175 or so. Nothing about the gun suggested a refinish,so I didn't look much closer.

There was a "matching" 4" model 15 in identical condition right next to it. What a pair!.....
