Renwax use

I don't usually have much to say but after reading about the use of renwax on your weapons I broke down and gave it a try. I applied the wax to my straightline pistol and all I can say is wow. The pistol has perfect bluing about 99% or better and everything just popped, even the grips. It looks like it was made yesterday instead of 1926. Learn something new everyday. Thanks guys.

Most of mine have worn it for a couple of years,seems to need renewing about every 6 months or so if they get handled much.I like a couple of coats on them and then they go into bore stores when they're put away.

Absolutely. Wax is the best product for maintaining metal. This is why we wax our cars and don't oil them.

Oil on guns attracts dust. The dust gets glued to the metal by the oil. Eventually the oil dries up but you are left with the dust. The dust attracts moisture and moisture causes rust.

Most firearms with rust freckling are as a result of having been oiled and then stored. Once the guns metal finish is waxed, the moisture cannot penetrate even if the gun is covered with dust.

Most museums use wax on their gun collections for long term storage and care.
