I bought my 9c back in September, it had a build of June 2013. I liked it, and went ahead and got a FS 9 in November, it has a build date of July 2013. The trigger on my FS is a lot better than my 9c. When I bought the 9c they only had the thumb saftey model, and the model I got which turns out is the MAY compliment version, hence why they trigger is different. What parts do I need to change on my 9c to match my FS 9. I found some older threads that talked about just changing the trigger return spring, and said to get it from brownells, but they are out of stock. Is this the only part I need to change, and where else can I get one.

apex trigger kit will take care of the trigger issue. Im in ma and have had 2 shields and a fs and c. All got the apex kit.

I'm in Texas, would have never thought to look at that. I think I am just going to do the apex kit.

I think S&W made both the trigger spring and the sear spring heavier. It would be nice if you could just call S&W and order these two springs, not the MA springs. Since I do not have a MA gun, I am only guessing that the sear spring is also heavier, but I am sure the trigger spring has increased pressure. You would know soon enough if you install the trigger spring and the pull is over 7 pounds.

Me too! Put APEX/DCAEK in my 9C. Never looked back. If you decide to do it you have to pull rear sight off which will expose the striker blocker under the rear sight. That would be the time to change the sights if you want. I did XS Big Dots. Awesome!

Order the DCAEK and a poly AEK trigger, as well as a set of night sights. Like you said, if I'm gonna have to pull the sights, might as well upgrade them.

I am in Mass and bought the 40c a few years ago. The shop I bought it from in Plymouth changed out the spring for me on the spot for 10 or 20 bucks. I'm sure any good shop can do it for your. Cheaper than the Apex if you only want to lower weight trigger.

I live in plymouth too and prob bought my 9c from the same shop you're talking about. It's not just the trigger spring that needs to be replaced. The plunger spring and striker blocker, spring and all the parts from the APEX/DCAEK smooth out the entire action.
The trigger spring is only a small part of the issue. Replacing just the trigger spring is not apples for apples fix.
