Would any of you wise Folks know where I may get a replacement barrel for my model 1917 .45 revolver besides Numrich Gun Parts? They seem to be sold out.

Do google searches using various wordings such as 'gun parts', 'S&W parts', etc. Different wordings bring up different results. It is for a gun many made. Small supply and high demand means rapid turn over. You may have to keep trying over a period of days or weeks till you get lucky but you can find a barrel.

The barrel was plugged with mud unknowingly, and my brother tried firing it thus causing a split along the bottom side. It's junk. Sorry.

Bummer...

I have one with a bad Bulge right up against the Frame...if I could find a Barrel which I could get 2 inches of usefull Barrel out of, I'd be happy and would make a snubby...

Nice full length barrels do come up on Gunbroker now and then...

I have a 1917 barrel that I'm selling for the owner. I don't think it has been on a gun. If your interested PM me.

Why don't you send it to smith, they are making 1917 barrels for their classic series?

Smith wouldn't work on a gun of this vintage,The thread specs are probably different as well.
