Due the stupid laws of my country, I can't use adjustments of my rifle's stock, and stock is locked to the longest length. This makes shooting a little bit difficult for my short handed asian wife.
Like to find out a drop-in barrel which is 4-5 inch longer. So the over-all length will about 33 inch, when stock is shortest.
Then may have better velocities with high-velocity ammo, too. And possible far more better accuracy, too.
Is there any drop-in barrels available?

I don't think S&W offer any for this rifle right now

There are no other barrels other than the one used in the Pistol version.

If it's legal to own a short barreled rifle in Finland (less than 16" over all) then you could have the barrel machined down to a shorter length.

But I am guessing, if the stock has to be fixed, then the rifle must remain 16" at all times.

Here pipe must be 16 inch and over-all length for a rifle must be 33,1 inch. So if have a longer barrel it will be legal to use adjustments of stock, so that lenght will not be under 33,1 inch.
And with this mp15-22 I am disappointed for velocities of fast ammo, like CCI Blazer, Win PowerPoint, fed HV. My earlier rifle with 20 inch pipe gave 30-50 m/s faster velocities with far more better accuracy.
I have found out that current barrel works fine only with slow ammo, which is ok and fine when use suppressor........as I do 100%. But for serious practicing for longer distancies ( 100m/ 110yd) faster ammo gives easier ballistics......and cheaper price.

would a pinned and welded flash hider work?

end up like this

I don't like flash hider's. I use suppressor's, because it's legal here. Now I have suppressor in four of my guns.......and remaining others can´t have them because competition rules.

I've been looking that 10/22 has drop in-barrels plenty. Why not 15-22?

because the 10/22 has been around since the dawn of time. the 15-22 for a couple of years.

however, i think we should bug green mountain to make barrels for us.

The 15-22 barrel has the ejector as part of it. I doubt an aftermarket barrel maker would want to fiddle with that. Longer barrels likely won't happen as this is an M4 sized gun, not an M16.

Rustspot,

Actually the chamber is removable, it's held to the barrel with roll pins. I don't see why the aftermarket couldn't make barrels for it, you would just reuse your chamber block.

Only time will tell if there will be an aftermarket barrel selection, as was already said, the 10/22 has been around for many decades.

I've recently have inquired about obtaining the Performance Center "Laney Match Chamber" barrel from S&W. My local favorite S&W distributor is Gil Hebard Guns and my most favorite person, other than Gil himself, Denise is looking into it for me as well as what the new PC 15-22 will cost out the door. However S&W is on vacation till the first of the week so I'll have to wait a bit.
I'll post back what I find out.
