So after my CAS rig was stolen back in February, hassles with getting insurance paid out during CV-19 shutdown and other delays I finally received my replacement John Leth (Auckland NZ) Outlaw double holster rig.

When I got it out of the box I realised something different. The left hand holster was cross draw, not straight draw.

I had been thinking of going to Gunfighter division, but it seems that with this rig Duelist would be as far as I could go.

I tried it our last night, holstering the right hand gun while drawing the left hand with fingers in front of the trigger guard and thumb over the top strap and presenting the grip to my right hand. It works, in fact it works too well. A I was lifting my left hand from the pistol the web of my thumb was cocking back the hammer. A no no in Duelist.

I will need to get my CAS advisor to look at how I draw the pistol to ensure I am not sweeping my feet as I rotate the barrel forward. I think I'll be alright.

Can't upload photos right now but will try again later

Exactly what I was referring to when I mentioned starting with the crossdraw first.
