Replacing magazine spring and follower

I have a model 916 that has no magazine spring or follower. I have not had luck locating one for this gun. Are these springs/followers all model specific or can I use one from another model?

also, what exactly is the purpose of the follower, and is it necessary? sorry if that is a stupid question.

Thanks OKFC05. Whats funny is I was looking at that exact page before, but then forgot about it when I needed these parts. So another question is, what is a cartridge stop, part #9? I think I may need one of these too. Is this what prevents the follower from coming out of the magazine tube? Or is it something else. How does the spring not just push the follower out?
