NRA-ILA | Write Your Reps

One letter can be sent to all of your reps, and the Pres, with correct salutations and closings. Couldn't be easier. We need to drown these guys with email and snail mail that they cannot ignore. We are trying to counter a roomful of dead little kids, God rest their souls. This is not like any other times the gun control debate has come up. If you sit on the sidelines you will see your rights diminished, and you may even become an outlaw overnight. We must stand up and fight!

Here's hoping and wishing for a peaceful, prosperous and happy New Year for everyone, and let's keep our enemies in our sights (figuratively). They need to be told once and for all that useless legislation will not be tolerated. It doesn't affect the criminals and crazies, it just makes us the scapegoats for them.

If you haven't called and/or written your Congresscritter, he's only hearing from the President, Sen Feinstein, and Piers Morgan. It's time to get off of your rear and exercise a little self-government. Griping on forums is fine, but it doesn't send the message. Please ensure your elected reps (regardless of party) hear from you on gun control.

Write to them every day. I have been sending emails almost everyday over the past several weeks. We need to be heard loud and clear.

What I want to know is, what in the hell is a letter gonna do?!? Most state level politicians don't have enough time to read letters, you must realize that "spammers" do not reside solely on the Internet. They have their hands in everything and they use that to advance their own personal gains. The second amendment guarantees us the right to peacefully bear arms so why not instead peacefully march our arms bearing asses straight up to congress and tell them what the American people want, deserve, and are entitled to by our founding fathers and the legislation they drew up under god!!!!
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

-- Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

"The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good"

-- George Washington

"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember it or overthrow it."

-- Abraham Lincoln, 4 April 1861
And one of my personal favorites!
An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.

-- Robert A. Heinlein, "Beyond This Horizon", 1942

There may have been a discernible difference at one time, decades ago, but not any more between the two political parties. It's hard to tell them apart. In many democratic countries, there is true proportional representation with every party represented proportionally in parliaments. In America, we have countless choices when it comes to cars, TVs, consumer goods and food, but when it comes to politics, there are only two and they are barely distinguishable.

Montesquieu. whose ideas heavily influenced America's Founders, said: "The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the principles on which it is founded."
