but it's not what you think. I needed a new(er) vehicle and since I don't drive as much I went looking for another 4 wheel drive. I found a 92 Chevy Suburban that the owner was selling because his wife hated it, and I mean hatred with a passion. I feel bad for the owner because he got this 92 Suburban and it was once in the Hamilton Township, New Jersey police fleet and it has 98,000 on the clock. The guy replaced the motor with another 350 V8 with one with 60,000 miles, which he gave me the paperwork and I still have some warranty on.
He serviced about everything front and back, tranny, shocks, (replaced with Ranchos), brakes, tires, rear end, new battery, a/c set up etc. It has zero creature comforts aside from air conditioning, the windows are manual, the doors the same, the radio just an AM/FM and that's it. He had just put in a brand new Uniden CB, mike and antenna, it came with a big truck vault that was in it when he got it, he also threw in brand new sidesteps in the box, and in the basement is the original push bumper that I am going to give some POR-15 and then paint. I have to wait until my brother in law comes up to hook it on because its so heavy. He took about a $3000 hit but needed it gone because he too has medical issues and his wife was threatening divorce.
I dropped off a couple things I found in it the other day that were his and he showed me the car he bought her, a top of the line loaded Crown Vic with the LX performance package (Ford's version of the Marauder) and she hated that too. I guess she would be walking if she were mine. It has been nicknamed the Beast and it actually drives and handles quite well for what it is, but it really is no bigger than an 8 foot box Chevy truck with a cap on it. I am going to have some "out of service" stickers made up for it since I already scared a couple of people with it.
