I am preparing to send a letter to my federal representatives concerning the misdirected feeding frenzy after the most recent atrocities, and I need some help!

I want to cite political entities (such as Chicago) that are Democratic bastions with excessive gun control legislation in place that is driven by gun violence at the expense of the law-abiding citizens. I would normally identify Washington DC, but the District seems to be leaning towards less restrictive gun laws.

What I am seeking is some help in identifying Democratic controlled political units (i.e.: cities, counties, states) which are drowning in gun violence and have inordinate levels of gun control that could be labeled as a model of the Democrat's "gun control utopia" that is failing in its stated goals.

Any and all examples that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

An exercise in futility at best. Save yourself the aggravation.

Keep it short and on topic. Polite helps. State your position clearly and why you believe what you do. A few facts. Chances are it will be seen only by an aide and marks will be made in a spread sheet, with a summary to the politician. Use short words.
