Can coated bullets be resized? A couple of years ago I wanted to try out 9mm coated bullets and Falcon sent me a box marked .356. They just don't work for me. I put them away and found them this week. Thought I would ask before I buy a sizing die.

You can resize then smaller. Making them bigger is a little more difficult. A lot of people, including myself use .357 for 9mm.

Yes, but it is easier to trade/sell em and get what you need.

What Yeti suggests.

I've found .357" or .358" work the best in my High-Power, M92 and Sig 210. I also use the 9mm bullets that I cast or buy at .358" in my 38s and 357 revolvers.

You can size down PCed bullets a few thousandths with no problems. Like the posts above I'll also ask why? I too have sized most of my cast and PCed bullets to .357" for my 4, 9mm pistols and one old Tokerev needs .358"+. If .356" bullets didn't "work" I'd start with slugging the barrel and reviewing my reloading methods (load data and possible bullet shaving?)...

One notable point is if you can't resize a coated bullet a few thousandths it surely won't last on a trip down the barrel.

I have had no issues sizing bullets I've coated myself, I use the NOE sizing die and a little imperial sizing die wax on the bullet.

These bullets are not .356. these are much larger and expand the case to the point they will not fit in the gun. Falcon sent them in a box marked .356. I just thought if they can be resized then I might use them. I have plenty of 9mm but these are just sitting around.

Measure them and let us know what the true diameter is...

Yes, they can be resized. Initially I used my Lyman 450 for my hi-tec coated bullets but bought the Lee .356 sizer that goes in a press. Sizing is easier with the Lee kit, faster, and less expensive than an H&I sizing die if you're just starting.

9mm .356 coated work great in my pistols with the dies that I have, with mixed brass.

.357 will start to bulge the brass slightly.

the .358 brand "X" that I had, would not chamber.

Good luck.

It looks like .3655 to .357.
Typo? .357" coated bullets should work fine unless your gun has an extra tight chamber. Most of my 9mm pistols have a .3555"-.356" groove diameter and .357" bullets are a perfect fit...

I have one 9mm with a polygonal rifled barrel and 357" works well in it too, PCed and plain lead...

Up date on my over sized 9 mm coated bullets. I got the Lee bullet sizing kit and used it and it worked. I now have some 9mm bullets I can use. It doesn't seem to have any effect on the coating. Thanks for the help.
