I have a new Response rifle with the adjustable stock. I would like to lock to my favorite position, and it looks like there is an opening for a pin to lock it. Is there a pin for that? I couldn't find one. Thanks

Missing pin?

20240403_144503.jpg

I have a paper clip through the hole where I believe a pin would go if I wanted to lock the butt stock in the current position. This would prevent accidental changing of the position of the stock. I'm trying to ascertain if such a pin exists, or if I have to make my own. Thanks

So, you are unable to get the stock to lock in one of the 6 notch positions on the buffer tube?

Missing Pin?

The latch/handle does stay in the desired notch until you lift it up. Problem is it's very easy to lift the handle by mistake. If you look closely there is a small hole at the bottom that is perfect for securing a setting. Guess I'm just picky. But that hole's not there for no reason. No biggie. I'll make my own pin. Thanks for your help.

The stock that comes with the Response is a Magpul SL stock. That hole should have a roll pin in it. The purpose of the roll pin is to hold the locking/release pin in the stock.

Due to the cut in the locking/release pin in the stock that the roll pin goes through, putting a pin in that hole will not lock the stock in place.

Doh!

My bad. Thank You for clearing up my mistaken assumption. I'll just be sure not to move the handle. Guess I could make a mark, but I wouldn't want to mar the finish. Thanks again for your help. :o

There most be 50 adjustable stock that are better suited to fill your needs if you fail to figure out how to deal with yours . Go visit a site like AR15 discounts and check out all the different adjustable stocks they show and find the one that you feel suits your need better !

I would not worry about mar'n the finish as it is just a tool for a need and scratches do happen . Hey maybe some paint , nice bright yellow color as a marker if your favorite position seems hand to find .
