:( Sorry to hear this. I can't remember reading his post but I haven't been on this board all that long. It's always sad to hear news like this about a board member. Don

Drew,
Thanks for telling us.
Sad news indeed.
A gentleman and a scholar whose loss does diminish us.

To absent comrades.

Very sad news indeed. And we are diminished on other forums, as well. Bud's knowledge of New Services was extensive. RIP, buddy.

Drew, thanks for letting us know.

I don't wish to hijack this thread but i have something i would like to say. An when he goes to heaven to saint peter he will tell another teacher reporting sir i've served my students well.

Sad news indeed. A teacher and gun collector, a rare breed for sure. I wish my kids could have had him for a teacher here in central Maine.

I could go years without hearing this kind of news. I never even met the guy, and yet I feel as though I have lost a family member.

Inspirational teachers aren't so numerous that we can afford to lose the ones we have.

Just as an aside, I have know a lot of teachers over the years who were gun people. I use that phrase to include everyone from those who are merely gun tolerant all the way up through shooting sports advocates and activists. There are way more than most of us might think, and at all levels from primary school through university.

A great guy. Rest In Peace. We shared quite a few conversations late night. Gave his knowledge and never asked nothing in return. Hope he's sitting in a man room now with the smell of Hoppes, good cherry tobacco and talking to Elmer Keith, Phil Sharpe, and his favorite dog. With a few 44's on a table.

Wish that I might have had him for a class. I studied to be a history teacher, but it never worked out. I settled on keeping my co-workers informed of what had happened on particular dates in history.
