Well, having worked for Four (4) Law Enforcement Agencies (3 Police Departments and One Sheriff's Department) over the past 34 years, today was my last day of work... It has been a great and rewarding career and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat but I am looking forward to being able to retire and slow down a little. I see more hunting, shooting and fishing in my life than I have been able to do during my career......I am looking forward to it.....

Jon,

Thank you. Yes, I actually had 4 people come down from Red Bluff for my retirement luncheon today. It was good to see them today!

I'm happy for you Dick. If you're lookin' forward to huntin' and fishin',you need to head on back down here. Bruz still has his shack in the swamp, and he's retired now too! :)

Attaboy!!! Congratulations on a long and successful career. Enjoy your retirement.

Be safe.

PS:

Guarantee you'll be busier than ever.

I hate to be the one to play "devil's advocate" - - BUT - - you don't get any days-off from here on out.

All days are the same, no day-off to look forward to :(

Seriously, there is no joy in having nothing to do. The enjoyment is when you have many things you could do & say "It can wait, today I'm going fishing!"

Congrats! & ENJOY! Jim (Retired 7 years now. Nothing to do. Didn't get done yesterday so I'll do nothing again tomorrow)

Congratulations. You have earned it...

While I enjoyed everyday of my 30+ year Carear, I have been retired about 4.5 years...

I really like it.

Thanks to all of the kind comments....

F.T. ...Thank you.... Yes, I stay in touch with Bruz and at some point, I will make it a point to get back to S.C. In my youth, I spent many good times at his swamp cabin.....I will have to get back there to see everyone and to enjoy some shooting and a good fish fry!!!!

Congratulations!!!

and whatever you've heard about retirement....the Truth is....it's WAY better than that!!!!

Congrats on your retirement and welcome to the ranks.

Been retired for 4 years now and don't think I could find a spare 8 hours in a day to work if I wanted to. The nice part is, doing YOUR stuff when YOU get around to it. And, annoying the kids as much as possible.
Enjoy!

Congratulations on your well deserved retirement! I hope you have a great time doing the things that YOU want to do.
