Can someone fill me in on how to take the adjustable stock apart on a M&P 15? Mine rattles. If I can hear it rattle, a deer or hog can surely hear it too. This gun will be used for both hunting and playing. I want to just make the stock un-adjustable by gluing it together, epoxy.

That lever that you press to adjust ..... pull it all the way down and slide out.

Mag Pull sells one that has a locking lever as well

If the lever is causing the rattle, just remove the stock from the rifle by pulling the stock to the rear, and instead of pushing up on the lever, pull down and pull the stock off. (use the video that Japes posted for more detail instruction)

Once the stock is removed, there is a roll pin in the plunger that holds the the lever in place. Remove that roll pin and you can tighten the nut down a few threads on the plunger. Just make sure to leave it where you can re-insert the roll pin. This increases the tension on the lever where it doesn't move around as much. I fixed one of mine by doing this.

stock info

Thanks guys. The info supplied is exactly what I was looking for. I am going to install a magpul rear section as I don't like the non existant recoil pad on factory supplied and if pic is correct I can kill two birds with one stone. Learning about these black guns more and more every day. I'm an old fart {69} and am having a blast.
