I have a WA Revelation as well. It's not a spin off, it IS a 500 with a Western Auto rollmark on it. All parts are interchangeable.

Don't know about that but, when I was a youngster of about 10 or 11 I bought my first shotgun from western auto it was a Stevens 410 and it is still as good today as it was then. Still have that shotgun I bought it in the late 50's on the lay away plan and I think it cost me $45.00. Paid $10.00 every two weeks till it was paid for. Had enough cosmoline in it it took me the better part of 2 hours to get it all off.

J.C. Higgins was sold by sears and they had out a whole line of sporting goods equiptment, fishing rods and reels shotguns, basketballs, and I think also golf clubs. Probably several other things I can't remember right now.

Like Sears' "Ted Williams" brand, the Western Auto guns were made by various major manufacturers through the years, with models ranging from almost identical to the name brands to those intentionally modified enough that they appeared differently made even if a lot of the parts were interchangeable. Naturally, most were made with an eye toward a lower price point and were not in direct competition with the name brand.

It was great when Sears was "Sears" and not K-Mart.
Could walk in and buy a boat, motor, fishing gear, rifles, tools to fix things with, major appliances, lawn and garden.

I had a Sears Gamefisher 14 Alum boat (Sea Nymph) 9.9 motor (Chrysler) that engine ran forever and was the simplest thing to work on.

Plus you could put it all on you Sears Card!

thanks for the input...my wester auto 12 ga.,in the past, spent a lot of time in my jon boat hunting cotton mouths...seems i must have taken care of it as in functions perfectly today and the bluing on it is just outstanding....it was for christmas my senior year of high school...i was president of the rod and gun club and my dad i guess felt sorry for me shooting trap with a very old 16 ga.single shot...
