revolver 17 will not single ction just double

my firat time- help please - i have read jerry K book several times on this problem. I have replaced trigger and hammer and recoil 3 times - either stayed the same or stoped double action as well with near new parts did put best working double action one back in.
17-5 has new cylinder [stainless] i use 5 of these when teaching ccw as reliable and cheap 22 ammo- I rebuilt all 5 from ok to missing most including cylinder, side plates and parts

Any chance an internal trigger stop is in place and adjusted too tightly?

Can you describe the single action malfunction a little further please? It's hard to tell what's actually going on by reading your description.
